About

Our Story.

Pohakupuna Beach Club began in 2020 as a sanctuary for close friends and family—a place to gather, celebrate, and find solace. What started as an intimate retreat grew into a global community, and our greatest joy is sharing this space while honoring the cultural richness and beauty of the island.

As a Filipino-owned, family-run venue, we deeply respect the land and Hawaiian traditions. Our roots trace back to our grandfather, Bonifacio Baris, who arrived on Kauai in the 1930s as part of the Ilocano migration for sugarcane work. Our paternal grandparents later settled in Ewa Beach as educators in the 1970s. With this legacy, we are committed to preserving Hawaii’s culture, environment and magic for generations to come.
